About this printable
This worksheet features large, clear dotted outlines of both uppercase and lowercase Z. The dotted lines are thick and easy for little hands to follow. There are four rows of smaller, dotted Zs to practice writing the letter. This page is ideal for preschoolers and kindergarteners learning to form letters.
Use this page to introduce the letter Z and its sound. It's perfect for a morning activity, a literacy center, or homework. Children can trace the large letters first, then practice writing them independently in the rows below.

Questions about this printable
Is "Trace Letter Z Z Worksheet" really free? ▾
Yes — the PDF is free to download and print, with no account, no email and no watermark on the file. The site is paid for by advertising, which is why ads sit around the printable and never on it.
What paper size does it print on? ▾
The file is laid out for US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) and prints just as cleanly on A4 — turn on "Fit to page" in your print dialog and it scales to about 97%, which nobody can see by eye.
What should I colour it with? ▾
Crayons and coloured pencils are perfect on ordinary copy paper. If you are using markers, print it on 65lb / 176gsm cardstock or slide a spare sheet underneath, because markers bleed straight through thin paper.
Can I use it in my classroom? ▾
Yes. Teachers, homeschool parents, childminders and libraries may print unlimited copies for their own children at no cost and with no permission needed. The only thing you may not do is sell it, sell prints of it, or pass the file itself around — share a link to this page instead.
Is there more like this? ▾
This page is part of 53 Free Alphabet Tracing A-Z Coloring Pages, which has 53 printables in it. You can take them one at a time, or use the "Download all" button on the set's page to get every page in one go.
Can I change it? ▾
This one is a true vector PDF — every line is a shape and the text is still live text, so it opens in Illustrator, Inkscape, Affinity or Canva and can be edited. That is for your own use: the licence does not allow reselling it, edited or not.
